The Waved Albatross is a large seabird with a white head and neck, brown-to-gray body plumage, and bluish legs. It nests on the ground on its breeding island and searches the open ocean for fish, squid, and other prey.
Adults have a white head and neck, with plumage changing from dark brown on the abdomen through gray to white. Their legs are bluish and the bill is mustard yellow. Adults have a wave-like feather pattern near the nape.
They return to land to breed and nest on the ground on Isla Española. Pairs face one another, call, bow, and touch bills during courtship. At sea they feed on fish, squid, and crustaceans.
The eyes are dark brown.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
