The Broad-billed Fairywren is a little-known bird of northern New Guinea’s hill forests. It searches the understorey and ground layer of primary rainforest, especially around small natural openings.
Its broad bill gives the bird its common name. Adult males and females differ mainly in crown color, belly color, and size.
It forages in monospecific parties in primary-rainforest understorey and ground layers, especially near small natural openings. The older account reported about thirty specimens and one discovered nest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
