The Santa Cruz Shrikebill is a forest bird restricted to the Santa Cruz Islands of the Solomon Islands. Its ecology remains poorly known because records were sparse for many decades.
Males have a black head and upperparts, white eyebrow and ear patches, and white underparts. Females are rufous above and paler below; juveniles resemble females.
It lives in old-growth forest tangled with vines and feeds on insects. The male song is described as a short whistle, but the account emphasizes that observations are too few for a full picture of its ecology.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
