The slender treeshrew has a slim body and long tail. In Bornean forest it forages alone on the ground and in low undergrowth, feeding on insects.
It is a small, slender, olive-drab animal with a pale gray shoulder stripe, long tail, and relatively long legs. It resembles other small treeshrews.
At Bornean study sites it foraged alone on the ground, logs, and low foliage. Caterpillars, ants, and grasshoppers were frequent prey in the small scat sample.
