The Cozumel Thrasher is endemic to Cozumel Island. It is mainly terrestrial and tends to hide in dense cover.
The 1885 description of a male specimen compared it with the Long-billed Thrasher: it was darker overall, with a black bill and more sharply marked breast spots.
It is mainly terrestrial and secretive in dense cover. Semideciduous medium forest and low deciduous forest are reported habitats.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
