LeConte's Thrasher is a pale, sand-colored bird of the dry deserts of southwestern North America. It stays near the ground in brush for much of the year, while males sing from high perches during the breeding season.
Its body is a pale dusty grey to sand color, with a stocky chest. The black bill curves downward, and the body darkens toward the end of the tail.
For much of the year it stays on or near the ground in brushy cover and runs among plants when alarmed, with its tail held high. During the breeding season, males perch high and sing in the morning.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
