Hilgendorf's Tube-nosed Bat has a slightly projecting snout. A Kyoto Prefecture account says it usually hides in tree cavities by day, feeds on insects in the evening, and hibernates in winter.
The tip of the snout projects slightly. Kyoto's account describes it as a large tube-nosed bat, with a forearm longer than 40 mm.
It leaves its roost at dusk to catch flying insects and hibernates in winter. Tree cavities are described as its usual daytime shelter, though temporary cave records have also been reported in Kyoto.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
