The black crown and white eyebrow stand out on this tchagra, which occurs widely across sub-Saharan Africa. It uses dry thorn woodland, miombo woodland, and some gardens.
It has a black forehead and crown, a white eyebrow, and a black line through the eye. The back is brown, the wings rusty, and the underside grayish white.
It mainly searches the ground and leaf litter for invertebrates. A southern African field account also records frogs and small reptiles as occasional prey.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
