The Kauai Elepaio is a small songbird found only on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. In wet forest it searches trunks, branches, leaves, and the ground for small insects and spiders.
Adults are grey, with a rusty wash across the breast and white on the wings and tail. Immatures have cinnamon heads and rufous wing bars and take about two years to reach adult plumage.
It moves quickly along trunks, branches, and leaves, and sometimes forages on the ground for insects and spiders. It uses both native and non-native forests and is described as fairly common in wet native forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
