This pigeon lives in forests on Caribbean islands and searches the forest floor for seeds and fruit. A white line below the eye and reddish underparts help identify it.
The back and wings are dark brown, with green or violet sheen in some light. A white line sits below the eye, and the throat and belly are reddish brown to ochre.
It walks through forest floors and low vegetation, eating seeds and small fruits. It may form small groups outside the breeding season.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
