The Fujian Niltava is a flycatcher that searches for insects in woodland. Males and females have different plumage.
The male has blue on the crown and wings, a blue-black throat, and rich orange-rufous on the breast and upper belly. The female is brown above, with a white band across the lower throat and a white central belly.
It is shy and unobtrusive, usually alone or in pairs. It watches for prey from a low perch and forages for insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
