The Sao Tome Paradise Flycatcher is found only on São Tomé. It uses forest understory and midstory, including shaded lowland cocoa plantations, and has been recorded catching insects over rivers.
The male is glossy blue-black, with a pale blue bill and blue eye-rings. The female has a dark crown, gray face, rusty upperparts, and pale underparts.
The study records birds flying from riverside perches to pick insects from the water. They use the forest’s lower and middle levels, and surveys found them especially common in shaded lowland cocoa plantations.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
