This free-tailed bat is recorded in northeastern Australia. The 2014 study had confirmed 11 specimens from central Cape York Peninsula and the Gulf Country.
The dorsal fur ranges from dark brown to reddish brown, with a modest contrast against the paler underside. The sides of the neck can be yellowish.
All confirmed specimens were mist-netted over or close to fresh water. The authors describe woodland habitat; the natural roost is unknown, with tree hollows suggested as a possibility.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
