This shrike occurs in the Iberian Peninsula and southern France. It has a gray back, black eye mask, and white eyebrow, and watches open ground from a raised perch.
Adults have a gray back, pale underside, black mask running from the bill toward the back of the head, and a white eyebrow. The black wings have white patches near the base of the primaries.
It watches the ground from shrubs, posts, or wires and catches prey in open grassland and fields. For nesting it needs shrubs or small trees, including in open farmland.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
