The Magpie Shrike is an African shrike with a long tail and black-and-white plumage. It watches for prey from savanna branches and may breed cooperatively in family groups.
Adults have black-and-white plumage and a long tail, with a grayish-white V-shaped rump visible in flight.
It drops from a perch to catch prey, eating insects and other arthropods as well as small vertebrates and fruit. Young family members may help at the nest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
