This long-tongued bat occurs in the Caatinga of northeastern Brazil. The 2014 description notes three-colored dorsal fur, and a 2017 field study recorded nectar use from several flowers.
Its dorsal fur is tricolored, its forearm is entirely naked, and its noseleaf has a distinct ridge.
A 2014-2015 survey at five sites in northeastern Brazil recorded 62 captures and nectar from at least nine plant species, mainly columnar cacti.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
