The Long-whiskered Owlet is a tiny owl with long facial feathers like whiskers. It is recorded in humid mountain forests of northern Peru.
Its facial disc is not prominent, but long, fan-like whiskers grow near the bill base and along the face. Its body is warm brown with fine markings.
Researchers infer that it mainly eats insects from limited stomach contents and fecal evidence.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
