The Brazilian big-eyed bat has distinctive white lines on its face and back. It is recorded in many Brazilian habitats and often feeds on wild figs.
Its back is medium brown with one white stripe down the middle. Two more white stripes run above the eyes, contrasting with its dark brown underside.
It mainly eats fruit and appears to favor wild figs. It also eats some of the small fig seeds, so it can act as a seed predator rather than only dispersing them.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
