The fringe-lipped bat has wart-like bumps on its lips and chin. It lives in lowland forests of Central and South America and roosts in hollow trees or caves.
Its fur is long and woolly, reddish brown to dark brown on the back. The ears are longer than the head, and wart-like bumps cover the lips and chin.
It roosts in hollow trees and caves, then flies low through the forest understory to forage over streams and other moist places. Its foods include frogs and other amphibians, as well as insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
