A small flycatcher of the eastern Andes, from southeastern Peru to northern Bolivia.
It is about 11.5–12 cm long. The olive crown has a usually hidden yellow or orange patch; the wings have cinnamon-rufous bars, and the underparts are pale yellow. Birds from Bolivia are described as more yellowish.
It uses the lower and middle levels of moist montane forest at 1,000–2,600 m. Usually alone or in small groups, it makes short sallies from a perch to take insects from foliage, twigs, the air, or the ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
