This rare tityra is reported from the Brazilian Amazon. Published field records are limited, so its full range remains poorly known.
The reported adult male had a white tail and white ear-coverts; its black crown did not extend onto the nape.
In one published field observation, it searched branches and leaves for prey in the mid-storey of humid terra firme forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
