The Philippine cockatoo is a white parrot found only in the Philippines. Orange-red feathers beneath the tail, with pale yellow and pink on the cheeks and underwings, help identify it.
Both sexes have a white body, with yellow or pink tones on the cheeks. The underwings are yellow, and the undertail is orange red. It is about 30.5 cm long. Males have dark-brown eyes and females have red eyes. The large crest rises or lies flat with the bird’s mood, and the bill is large, curved, and chalky white to gray-white.
It lives in coastal lowlands and may gather in flocks. It is also known to forage in rice and corn fields.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
