Major Mitchell's Cockatoo is a white and pink cockatoo with a large crest. When raised, the crest shows red-pink and orange bands. The bird lives in Australia's dry interior.
The face and underparts are pink, while the back, wings, and tail are white. When the large white crest is raised, it shows red-pink and orange bands. Pink also shows under the wings and tail in flight.
It lives in pairs or small flocks and may gather in large flocks when food is plentiful. It mainly eats seeds, and also removes insect larvae from branches. It stays where water is sufficient and moves in drier areas.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
