This cuckooshrike lives in the canopy of West African lowland forests. In June 2026, it was photographed and filmed in Taï National Park, Côte d’Ivoire.
Males have an orange-chestnut rump and strong orange-yellow underparts. Females may be very difficult to distinguish from females of the related Oriole Cuckooshrike.
It uses the canopy of lowland rainforest and open swamp forest near rivers. It eats caterpillars, grasshoppers, and mantids, and may join mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
