Baird’s beaked whale inhabits the North Pacific and nearby seas. It mainly uses cold, deep offshore water, but can also occur near steep coastal slopes.
It has a long, robust body, a bulbous forehead, an elongated beak and a small rounded dorsal fin.
It often travels in close groups and makes deep dives to search for squid and fish.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
