A pigeon with a large lace-like crest that searches for food on the forest floor.
Its blue-grey plumage has maroon patches, and its eyes are red. Fine feathers form a broad, fan-shaped crest on the head.
It forages on the ground for fallen fruit and seeds. Both parents incubate and feed the chicks a rich substance regurgitated from the crop.
