The Yellow-billed Tern is a small tern with a yellow bill and legs, a black cap, and a white forehead. It breeds on large South American rivers and searches over the water for prey.
A breeding adult has a yellow bill and legs, a black cap, and a white forehead. In flight, the outer primaries look dark from above and below.
It often hovers while hunting small fish, shrimp, and insects. Outside the breeding season, birds gather mainly along coasts and estuaries.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
