A small flycatcher recorded in northern Luzon. It searches among trees for small invertebrates in lowland forest.
In a 2026 photograph, the wing coverts of one bird have buff-orange fringes. The observer suggested it might not be fully adult, so this is not presented as standard adult plumage.
It inhabits lowland forest and gleans small invertebrates among the trees.
