This dove searches for food while walking across shaded, damp forest floors. When alarmed, it may pause, fly a short distance, and land close to the ground.
In the 1924 account, the bill was yellow, the eyes dark brown, and the skin around the eyes and feet reddish.
The account says the birds walked as they fed, paused when alarmed, then flew a short distance and landed near the ground. Fruit and insect remains were found in one examined bird.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
