The Blue Ground Dove is a small pigeon whose male's blue-gray plumage contrasts with the female's reddish brown. By day it searches the ground for seeds and small insects, using forest edges and grasslands.
The male has a pale powder-blue head, grayish underparts, and black dots on the wings. The female has a gray-brown head, a reddish brown back, and reddish spots on the upper wings.
By day it pecks at small seeds, fruits, and insects on the ground, and is usually seen in pairs. When disturbed, it may fly up to a branch or other higher spot.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
