This small manakin occurs in south-western Pará, Brazil, between the Tapajós and Jamanxim rivers. Males have a golden crown on green-and-yellow plumage; females have a green head and rump.
The male is bright grass-green, with a yellow belly and undertail, white rump and uppertail-coverts, and a glittering golden crown and nape. The female is green overall, with a slight bluish tinge on the crown and a green rump.
Records came mainly from primary terra firme forest. The first recorded bird was about 6 m up beside a stream in dense forest; specimen stomachs contained fruit and insects, and a lek was recorded in selectively logged forest in 2006.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
