This fantail occurs in the understory of the Palau Islands. In the 1951 account, it foraged through brush alone or in pairs.
Adults are cinnamon-rufous above, with a white chin and throat, a black upper breast, and a whitish lower breast. The tail is black with rufous tips.
It was recorded alone or in pairs in brushy forest understory and second-growth vegetation. While feeding in the undergrowth, it moved its wings and tail rapidly.
