This birch mouse has been recorded in high-elevation grasslands of the western Caucasus. In the study sample, the tail was longer than the body.
For seven mice captured in Mukhu Valley, mean body length was 62.2 mm and mean tail length was 101.5 mm, so the mean tail was longer.
Captures came from subalpine grassland and clearings with herb-rich vegetation. At Mukhu Valley, the study sampled a grassland clearing at 1,985 m and a subalpine meadow at 2,240 m.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
