Morden's Owlet is a small owl restricted to East African coastal forests. A study in Arabuko-Sokoke Forest found it foraging at night and using Cynometra woodland with large old trees.
The paper describes it as East Africa's smallest owl and reports a mean mass of about 50 g among ten tracked adults. Its plumage is described as colourful.
Tracked owls foraged at night and returned to roosting trees, alternating among several roosts.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
