This bat is recorded in Malaysia. Published observations include small groups roosting beneath streamside rock overhangs or in palm leaves.
A historical description gives the ears a rounded, nearly quadrangular outline and says the small ear flap curves inward.
A literature review cites reports of groups of about eight to ten roosting beneath overhanging rocks near streams or in palm leaves. These are observations from particular sites, not a fixed group size for the species.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
