The Asian long-tailed porcupine is a small porcupine with short spines on its back. It is active at night in the moist forests of Southeast Asia, walking on the ground and climbing trees.
Its upper body is black or brown and its underside is pale. Short, flattened spines cover the body except for the head and underside.
It hides by day in burrows, caves and tree cavities, then is mainly active on the ground at night. It also climbs trees and shrubs while foraging.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
