The Double-banded Courser lives in open arid country. Two black breast bands stand out, and it feeds by running a short distance before pecking at insects on the ground.
It has two narrow black bands across the breast, pale sandy or cream underparts, and sandy-brown upperparts with white feather edges that give a scaled look.
It feeds on insects, especially harvester termites, by running a short distance and then pecking at the ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
