This sportive lemur is known from Mananara-Nord Biosphere Reserve in northeastern Madagascar. Reddish-gray mottling runs from its head along the back.
Reddish-gray mottling covers the head, shoulders, and mid-back, changing to lighter grayish brown near the rump. The underside is mainly light gray.
The paper describes sportive lemurs as nocturnal and strongly folivorous. That genus-level statement does not provide species-specific activity times or a detailed diet for L. hollandorum.
