The pool name Glycifohia gonada is treated in a type catalogue as an unnecessary replacement name for Glyciphila notabilis; the current Avibase/AviList record uses Gliciphila notabilis. This honeyeater inhabits forests in Vanuatu.
The nominate subspecies notabilis has a black head, brown to rufous-brown upperparts, and white underparts with fine brownish streaks. Its conspicuous white supercilium is speckled with black.
It uses primary forest and tall secondary growth and forages from canopy to understory, probing foliage and flowers mainly for nectar and pollen, while also taking insects, spiders, and some fruit.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
