This small flycatcher is about 11.5 cm long. It ranges along the eastern Andean foothills of central and southeastern Peru and into adjacent northern Bolivia, using humid forest with tall canopy.
It has a gray crown and olive-green upperparts. Two yellow wingbars stand out against dusky wings; the yellow underside has broad dusky marks on the breast and flanks. The front of the face and eye-ring are cinnamon-rufous.
It moves actively through the high canopy and sallies out to catch insects. It is often with mixed-species flocks but is also seen alone.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
