The Goias Parakeet occurs in dry forest patches on limestone in central Brazil. A 1997 field study documented dry-season feeding in this restricted habitat.
The 1997 species account describes a red face and pale blue head, and notes the absence of an auricular patch as a distinction from close relatives.
The field study recorded flowers and seeds early in the dry season and figs later. A separate paper documented four observations of birds scraping limestone-rich soil between 2012 and 2014.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
