The El Oro Parakeet lives on forested slopes of the western Andes in Ecuador. It feeds in social groups, and some breeding pairs are helped by other birds.
It is dark green, with red leading edges on the wings and red outer tail feathers. Males also have a red forehead.
It is highly social and feeds in groups in the forest canopy on seeds and fruit. A breeding pair may have up to six helpers.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
