The Rufous-winged Ground Cuckoo is a large ground cuckoo of foothill forest from southern Venezuela to northern Brazil. It has rufous wings and bare red skin around the eye.
It is about 43–48 cm long, with dark head and breast, rufous wings, and an ash-brown belly. The bare skin around the eye is reddish, and the black bill has a pale tip.
It is described as shy and often solitary. It runs along the forest floor, and records sometimes place it near peccaries.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
