This fruit-eating bat is recorded in western Colombia, western Ecuador, and far northwestern Peru. A specialist account describes it across several settings, from humid forest to dry forest and areas near lowland banana plantations.
Its short dorsal fur is brown to dark brown with paler bases, while the underside is lighter. The facial white stripes are described as poorly defined.
It is primarily frugivorous. The specialist account also reports insects and leaves as foods, but presents these as additional reports rather than its main diet.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
