This small bat was described from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The original study examined five specimens caught along the Congo River's left bank.
The five specimens had blackish-brown upperparts without white markings and paler underparts. Two males looked darker than three females, but the authors said the sample was too small to confirm a sex difference.
All five specimens in the original description were caught in riparian areas at three sites on the Congo's left bank.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
