The grizzled leaf monkey's boundary with a close relative remains uncertain, with coat color varying by region. It lives in western Java's forests, is active in trees by day, and feeds mainly on leaves.
The natal coat ranges from medium to dark gray or black.
It is diurnal and arboreal, using middle and upper forest layers. Leaves are the main food, but it also eats fruit, flowers and seeds; the proportions vary with elevation.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
