This langur occurs on Borneo, and records of coat and diet vary among subspecies and study sites.
In the nominate subspecies from western Borneo, historical specimens were described as black above, with whitish belly, inner thighs, and underside near the tail base.
A 2021 study of subspecies cruciger in Danau Sentarum National Park recorded daytime activity in trees; recorded foods were 50% leaves, 30% fruit, and 20% seeds.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
