The Chattering Kingfisher is a South Pacific kingfisher with a blue-green back and bold white eyebrows. It catches insects in the air or among branches.
The sexes look alike. Crown, back, wings, and rump are dark blue-green, with broad white eyebrows meeting behind the head. The face is blackish green, underside white, and bill black and pale yellow.
It perches in the middle levels or canopy and takes flying insects and prey from branches and foliage. It uses streamside mountain forest, secondary forest, wooded areas, and farmland.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
