This golden mole lives in sandy parts of South Africa and Lesotho. It digs tunnels with strong forelimbs and eats invertebrates.
Its glossy coat is brown with reddish sides and a gray underside. Fur covers the eyes, and its forelimbs have large digging claws.
It is solitary and digs tunnels by day and night. It finds crickets, snails, earthworms, and other invertebrates by smell and touch.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
