The Taiga Flycatcher is a small flycatcher marked by a blackish tail and white undertail-coverts. It migrates from breeding areas in northeast Asia to wintering areas farther south.
The non-breeding male and female are similar, with a black bill, dark tail, and white undertail-coverts. The breeding male has a rufous-orange throat.
It uses coniferous and mixed deciduous forest in its breeding range, and forest edges, secondary growth, parks, and gardens in winter. It drops to the ground from a perch to feed.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
